The techniques used in this shawl include knitting through the back loop, increases, and decreases. It's finished with an I-cord bind off and includes optional German short rows. It's a great project for an adventurous knitter who is interested in knitting their first pullover. Learn more about the techniques used in this sweater here.
Choose your body length (cropped, regular, or customized) and your sleeve length (short, elbow, 3/4, wrist, or customized) inside the pattern as you work.

This pullover pattern uses 1000-2340 yards of DK weight yarn, depending on the size you choose to knit. The pattern includes 11 sizes, ranging from 32 to 76 inch full chest circumference (80 to 190 cm). I recommend knitting a size with -2 to 4”/-5 to 10 cm of ease. Both design samples shown are a size 2 with 0.5"/2 cm positive ease.

You may choose to work the pattern using one color, two colors, or a fade. Learn more about the sizing and yarn recommendations here.

Design Inspiration
Herringbone Hygge Pullover Knitting Pattern by Snickerdoodle Knits.png
Herringbone Hygge is truly the result of me wanting to design a pullover that I love to wear. I can tend to be a bit picky with my hand knits, and as a result there are many of my knits that I never wear. I wanted to change that. So I looked to the clothing I love to wear: comfortable, low maintenance, aesthetically simply, and usually one "special feature." Oh, and pullovers :) I don't wear a lot of accessories these days, so it was really important to me that I create an easy to wear, comfortable pullover that I'd want to live in forever. And I love herringbone, so wah-lah.... we have the Herringbone Hygge Pullover!
This design comes with a message for you to be comfortable in yourself, and with yourself. Whether it's your knits or something else entirely, allow your personality and preferences to shine. You don't have to wear (or make) something just because anyone else is. Just be you.
