The Hidden Love Mittens pattern is a bulky weight pattern featuring an adorable heart on the palm from each hand. The inspiration behind this design started with my With Love, From the North Mittens pattern. After designing that pattern, I decided I wanted to create something similar that didn't require super bulky yarn and didn't require a contrasting color. So, I recalculated this pattern for a slightly lighter yarn, and I used purl stitches instead of the contrasting color for the heart motif!
The yarn that I used for this pattern design is Loops & Threads Impeccable (I buy it from Michael's, and I always get it for at least 40% off because of their sales and coupons!). I highly recommend using either a solid color or a lightly speckled yarn to allow for the hearts to be as visible as possible. However, if you want your heart more hidden, it would still be fun to work this pattern with a busier yarn (multi-color, highly speckled, or variegated yarn). In this post, I will give you some ideas of colors that I would use from the Impeccable line, as well as some other yarns that would work well with this design!
