All of a sudden, 2019 became the year for many of my friends (9 or 10 in total!) to start having babies! I'd started to think about knitting some baby gift knits when I saw this Nestled Diamonds stitch pattern in a stitch dictionary, and it was absolutely perfect for a baby blanket, but also any other kind of blanket, because it isn't super childish. I designed this Nestled Diamonds Blanket for my best friend’s adorable little girl who was born this summer. I absolutely love the coziness and washability of Bernat Softee Chunky and Loops and Threads Charisma yarns, so those are the yarns that I used for my gift knits.
I highly recommend using either a solid color or a lightly speckled yarn to allow for the pattern to be as visible as possible. However, if you want your diamonds less visible, it would still be fun to work this pattern with a busier yarn (multi-color, highly speckled, or variegated yarn). In this post, I will give you some ideas of colors that I would use from Bernat Softee Chunky and Loops and Threads Charisma, as well as some other yarns that would work well with this design!
