Knit one, or all five, of the knitting patterns in the My Forever Home Collection, inspired by my home state: Montana.
Chat with fellow knitters; share your yarn, progress, and finished object photos; and win yarny and Montana-themed prizes!
Montanans have a lot of pride for their state - its vastness, its beauty, and its grandeur. I designed the My Forever Home Collection to celebrate the state, focusing on specific aspects that stand out to me: farmland, prairies, mountains, woods, and snowy winters.
This knit-a-long (KAL) will celebrate the launch of the collection and our Montana pride and admiration. You can choose to knit one pattern or the whole collection, all with fellow knitters from around the world! There will be knit chat, special KAL discounts, and lots of amazing Montana - made prizes!

How do I participate?
Share your photos using #MontanaKAL on your Instagram posts.
Knit and chat with other knitters in the KAL chat. Here you can share your yarn, progress photos, questions, and finished objects. Click the button below to join the KAL chat and sign up for any KAL news or updates.
The KAL chat is being hosted on Discord, an app that allows you to chat and share photos with all KAL participants.
How do I win a prize?
Knit at least one pattern from the collection and share it in the KAL chat and/or use the #MontanaKAL hashtag on Instagram. Every post using #MontanaKAL and/or in the KAL chat counts for prize drawings!
The prize schedule is as follows:
November 30th, December 21st, January 11th, and January 31st: Winner will be drawn from a combination of the chatter thread, FO thread, and Instagram hashtag.
December 20th & January 31st: Prize for the knitter with the most skeins knit! (to even out the playing field for those knitting the poncho and shawl)
January 31st: An additional winner will be drawn exclusively from the FO thread for the Grand Prize.
The more you chat, the more fun you'll have, and the more likely you are to win a prize! Each comment/post = 1 entry for the prize.
Within the FO thread: if you knit your project with yarn from any of the yarn dyers that supported this collection: Polka Dot Sheep, Western Sky Knits, Big Sky Yarn Co, and Explorer Knits, or any of the yarn dyers that have donated a prize for the KAL:
(solstice yarn, The Farmer's Daughter Fibers, and Big Sky Yarn Co), you will receive one additional entry. You must post twice in the FO thread for your project to receive the additional entry for the yarn -- and please share which yarn it was!
